Hi. I want to try to feed my baby as much organic as possible and was going to get her organic baby cereal; i saw they have it. She has gerber cereal right now. I thought is cereal like the grains and stuff actually treated with pesticides? If not then it doesn't make sense to buy it organic. What do you think. Does anyone use it. A:In re. the first answer: lots of chemicals are used in the production of "organic" food. They do use chemicals on it.Here's a pesticide used on food that's "organic" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrethrum#I… You should better understand this stuff before blowing money on it; read http://www.nal.usda.gov/afsic/pubs/ofp/o… http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php?/… http://www.biotech-info.net/deadly_chemi… http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/node/1567 ...as for the original question -- why?? "Organic food 'no healthier' than conventional produce, reveals watchdog" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/food/a… ...and infant cereal is just highly refined starch; not at all nutritious. Good links on cereal: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?… http://www.usatoday.com/yourlife/parenti… "I thought is cereal like the grains and stuff actually treated with pesticides? If not then it doesn't make sense to buy it organic." I don't understand this part of the question at all. Newer news items:
